Welcome to Pealer Mill Orchard & Cidery.

Crafted in the Clear Fork Valley using foraged fruit and estate grown cider apples and perry pears, our ciders and perries capture the complex flavors and undertones of the orchard to create authentic, handmade drinks proudly produced in the heart of Ohio.

Our approach

We set out to build something meaningful on our family farm, committed to sustainable orchard practices and with consideration for those who will come after us. In each small batch, we’re dedicated to protecting and safeguarding forgotten and newly discovered apple and pear varieties—all while capturing the essence of what great cider and perry should be. With a deep respect for the land, the fruit, and the work it takes to maintain them both, we hope to leave this place better than we found it.

Our Ciders

After more than a decade of work, we are proud to introduce our first ciders.

Wassail & Wild is a dry sparkling cider made from a blend of apples from two sources in Ohio’s Walhonding Watershed: an unidentified early season dessert variety grown on a single standard tree at our farm in Richland County, and wild seedling apples foraged in the hills and pastures of Holmes County. This cider is dry, wild fermented, and aged on lees. Only 18 cases produced.

Glacial is a cryoconcentrated sparkling cider that was years in the making. Half of the blend is French bittersweet Amère de Berthecourt and English bittersharp Geneva Tremlett’s; the remainder is juice reserved for years in preparation for the cidery’s opening. This frozen juice (from varieties like Dabinett, Wickson, Golden Russet, and Porter’s Perfection) was only partially thawed, intensifying and concentrating the flavors. Like our orchard, it took years to come to fruition. We think it’s been worth it. Only 19 cases produced.
